One of the great things about summer is the chance to get out in the gorgeous weather and enjoy nature. Exploring is so much easier with baby in the Ergo so there’s nothing stopping us from our outdoor adventures.
For my mom’s birthday, we decided to take a day trip to a lavender farm a couple hours away in the mountains of North Carolina. I brought my Ergo Stowaway, which made it really easy for me to let my almost one year old out to walk around and explore. I simply tucked the Stowaway back into it’s pouch and carried it by it’s convenient strap. When he wanted carried again, I could whip it back out.
And there was lots to explore! We started out at the lavender labyrinth and walked the circular stone path, inhaling the sweet fragrance of the lavender surrounding us. We enjoyed walking around exploring and my four year old enjoyed the little play cottage on the property. There were paths to follow through the woods, as well as llamas and chickens and goats to see.
Our last stop was to explore their amazing shop. It was a treat to peruse all of the various items made from their lavender and goat’s milk. I had a hard time narrowing down what to buy but finally settled on the lavender tea sampler as I’m a huge fan of tea and their loose leaf sampler set looked delightful. I made an excellent decision as they all taste delicious! My mom got a little more of a sampling of things from the shop like the Bee Caramel Honey, some of their bath items and a bug repellant spray that smells wonderful.
Before we left we had to try their lavender ice cream, of course. It is made from a local restaurant using the mountain farm’s lavender and is delicious! I was sad that the lavender lemonade wasn’t available while we were there but maybe we’ll get to try it next time!
